Our Experienced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Team

Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Specialists is a physician-led wound care and hyperbaric medicine clinic serving patients from communities throughout Davis and Weber counties. Our multidisciplinary team has extensive experience treating complex and limb-threatening wounds using evidence-based therapies and hyperbaric oxygen.

Dr. Jeremy Kessler

MD, FAAFP, FAWM

Originally from Queens, New York, Dr. Kessler initiated his medical studies at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, in Jalisco, Mexico. He completed his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College.  

 

Dr. Kessler started his residency training in General Surgery at the University of Florida – Gainesville. He subsequently transferred to the University of Wyoming – Cheyenne, where he completed his Rural Family Medicine Residency. He is Board Certified and fellowship trained in family medicine through the American Academy of Family Practitioners.  

 

He completed a fellowship in Wilderness and Expedition Medicine through the Wilderness Medical Society at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He maintains an adjunct Assistant Professorship through VTCSOM. Dr. Kessler completed a fellowship in Undersea, Hyperbaric Medicine, and Wound Care at Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  

 

He is board-certified in Preventative Medicine through the American Academy of Preventive Medicine. In his free time, Dr. Kessler has been a medical and surgical brigade volunteer. He has trekked across Latin America, giving back to the underserved Latino population. He enjoys the opportunity to speak Spanish with his patients.  

 

Dr. Kessler is an outdoors enthusiast and world traveler. He attempts to combine his love of mountain biking, climbing, mountaineering, surfing, and diving while immersing himself in new cultures during global exploration.

Christie Petersen

AEMT, CHT, Safety Director

Christie brings 33 years of medical experience to Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Specialists, eighteen of those years as a Certified Hyperbaric Technician/Advanced Medical Technician/Safety Director. She started as AEMT, "I wanted to repay EMS for aiding my father and brother during their accidents. I had always hoped to help just one person and being in the medical field has helped me reach that goal.”

 

On a personal note, Christie has been married to Dan for 42 years. They have three children and seven grandchildren-she loves supporting their activities. She enjoys cruises, boating, snowmobiling, vacations, and family activities. Christie looks forward to continuing to help patients in the coming years.

Maddie Foster

RN, BSN

Maddie has 3 years of nursing experience and nearly a decade in various medical fields.  
“Being able to watch the difference I make in people’s lives right before my eyes every day is the reason why I am so passionate about wound care.  We succeed together every step of the way through this healing journey”.

 
When she is not working, Maddie enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, being outdoors, reading, and anything pink!

Jason Eaton

FNP-C, CAE-HAP

Jason is an AANP board certified family nurse practitioner. He has been practicing nursing since 1992 across Weber, Davis, Morgan, and Box Elder counties. His practice areas include surgical/orthopedic, spinal cord injury, home health, hospice, quality assurance/improvement, nurse administration, wound care, and hyperbaric medicine. Jason completed his undergraduate nursing education at Weber State University.  

 

In 2015, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Maryville University with a Master’s in Science and Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner degree. He has been providing advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine as a provider since April 2016.  


He completed a Certificate of Advanced Education – Hyperbaric Advanced Practitioner in 2024 from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society. Jason is enthusiastic about providing personalized multidisciplinary care to promote wound healing and functional limb preservation for a diverse patient population with multiple chronic and comorbid conditions.

Jason is married with two daughters. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family participating in many outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, fishing, hunting, cycling, rock climbing, and off grid homesteading. Most recently, he has enjoyed sharing time and life experiences with his first grandchild.

Christina Tills

Wound Technician

Christina is the newest member of our team working as a Wound Technician. 

 

“I love meeting, learning and personally working with our patients.  This new role has been exciting.”

When she is not working, Christina enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her loved ones, including her 4 legged family member.

Abby Egbert

Hyperbaric Technician

Abby recently graduated from Weber State University with a degree in nursing. She loves getting to know and treat our patients.

 

In addition to her nursing role, she is also a hyperbaric technician and enjoys seeing her patients daily and getting to know them. She enjoys the teamwork and hands-on aspect of wound care.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys staying active by trail running. She cherishes quality time with her family, especially playing outdoor games together like spikeball and pickleball.

Critt Aardema, M.D.
MD

Dr. Aardema completed a residency in family medicine at McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden. A native and resident of Ogden, Utah, he graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University.  He earned his M.D. at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he was named the Family Medicine Student of the Year in 2010.  

 

During his residency, Dr. Aardema served in the Porter Family Medicine Clinic at McKay-Dee, Intermountain Insta-care in Layton and the Bear River Valley Hospital’s emergency room. He also worked as an adjunct clinical professor in WSU’s Athletic Department.


As a volunteer, he provides medical care to uninsured patients at the Midtown Community Health Center.


Dr. Aardema is married with four children. In his leisure time, he enjoys engaging in activities such as golfing, mountain biking, and running. His interests include basketball, college football, and home remodeling.

Clinic Manager

Grace is our Clinic Manager for Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Specialists. Grace aims to exceed your expectations during your visit.  


Outside of work, she enjoys going to the gym, taking care of her plants, and spending time with friends.

Wyatt J. West
MD

Dr. West, from Mountain Green/Morgan, Utah, earned his bachelor's at Weber State University and his MD at the University of Utah. He completed his family medicine residency in Utah at McKay-Dee Hospital, focusing on sports medicine and conducting workshops in CME conferences for sports medicine. Dr. West also runs a Medical Weight Loss Clinic for Tanner Clinic.

 

Dr. West practiced in Morgan for three years and was the only practicing physician in the county.


Dr. West and his wife have three children. “Our family loves to spend time in Southern Utah hiking and biking.” He enjoys trail running and has completed several marathons.
